What Is Citizen Amendment Act: A lot of bills and laws are being passed in the Indian Democracy during the last 6 years This Act will amend the Citizenship Act of 1955 thereby allowing the people who are Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Christians, and Parsis who entered the Indian nation from various countries like Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan will be granted Citizenship officially by the Government of India.

WHAT IS CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT ACT?

The people who belong to countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and they are from Hindu, Parsi, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism faith and they do not have any proof of their parent’s birthplace can freely apply for the Citizenship of India if they are living in India for the Last Six Years.

The Citizenship Amendment Act will be applied for the people who faced various troubles on the basis of their religion and faiths and they were forced to take shelter in India because of such issues.

This Act will also protect such people who are facing discrimination and wrath on the basis of their religion from Illegal migration and thereby making them migrate lawfully under the Citizenship Amendment Act.

CUT-OFF DATE FOR CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT ACT

The people who entered India on or before 31st of December 2014 is the cut-off date for the Act, this explains that if those above eligible migrants entered into India on or before this Cut-off date under the current Citizenship law the Indian citizenship will be given to the people who are born in India or have resided in India for a minimum of 11 Years.
